Bainbridge Arts and Crafts receives a $1 million gift
The economy may be sliding, but donors with deep pockets are helping keep local arts organizations going. Not long after Bainbridge Arts and Crafts cut its payroll by 20 percent, an anonymous donor gave the organization a $1 million endowment that will provide income of about 6 percent of the present operating budget.
Even the board of directors of BAC — which supports artists and arts education on the island — is in the dark about the identity of the benefactor. In a news release, executive director Susan Jackson said: "Unfortunately, the donor's wish for anonymity prevents us from publicly expressing our gratitude with parades and mariachi bands and champagne."

Linkin Park - Bennington Stalkers Are The Downside Of Fame
LINKIN PARK frontman CHESTER BENNINGTON has spoken out about his terrifying ordeal with a stalker - insisting it is just the price celebrities must pay for fame.
In 2006, the singer was targeted by a crazed fan who hacked into his email account and stole his identity.
Devon Townsend pleaded guilty to stalking charges and was jailed for two years in February (08).
And Bennington admits that, although the incident has left him shaken, it is a danger that everyone in the public eye has to face.
He says, "That's the downside of fame. What was weird was that person thought what they did was okay when it was very uncomfortable. She thought she was just being a fan when she hacked into my email account and took over my identity.
"I put a lot of trust in people and try to think everyone is good, but this is the sort of experience that makes you think again."
